Central Colorado Springs

About Central Colorado Springs

Charm and unique flair are alive in picturesque downtown Colorado Springs. The streets and walkways are adorned with shade trees and flowers. They lead you to more than 65 dining establishments and 40 retail shops as well as many other downtown attractions. The heart of Colorado Springs is home to the Pioneer Museum, American Numismatic Association Money Museum, and United States Olympic Training Center, which all are free and open to the public.

Those who love the arts can enjoy the rotating exhibits at the Colorado Fine Arts Center and the stage productions at Colorado College. The Patty Jewett Municipal Golf Course, Rick Gossage Youth Sports Center and a number of parks: Monument Valley Park, Antlers Park, and Confluence Park; provide recreational opportunities. Memorial Park is also a favorite site for swimming, tennis, ice skating, volleyball, football, baseball and soccer, and serves as host of the annual Labor Day weekend Balloon Classic. This Northend Historic District is made complete with the Pikes Peak Library, McAllister House Museum, Veterans Memorial and Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial.

Penrose Hospital and Memorial Hospital are also located in this community, providing its residents quick access to outstanding healthcare. Downtown Colorado Springs is located 60 miles from Denver, 40 miles from Pueblo and is just a 30-minute drive to the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport.
